Is there anyway to add scripts to a portal in a list view?

I have a list of contacts below and above I have a portal of companies related. I want to be able to click on a company in the portal and run a script to go to that info? Any ideas?

It sounds like you need to read the FileMaker manual. This is a pretty basic question and is covered in both Manual and the Online Help. Hint, check the documentaion on Related Records and script steps.

No its not - your confused I have the portal in the header of a layout in list view...you see?

You didn't say your portal was in the Header. That's different. Just like you can't edit fields in the Header and Footer, you can't enter portals either.

Is there anyway special tricks to accessing the values that are listed in the a portal in this position???

Try using FM7, you can access fields and portals in the header.... I just tried it.

Hmm really!

I was planning on spending Xmas as fm7 upgrade time so I guess have to live without it till then!
