August 12, 200421 yr Hello People! I was just wondering if there is a "known" trick to printing field where parts of it are in bold. eg. ItemID: ABC-20LO04-00001A in layout mode 1 field easily fits: <<ItemID>> my resolution was to separate the field into 5 field that are combination of ItemID1_5 =Left () etc. ABC-20LO04-00001A <<ItemID1_5>><<ItemID2_5>><<ItemID3_5>><<ItemID4_5>><<ItemID5_5>> but now the lables laout is expanded since I am using 5 fields to represent what was originally 1.....hence the labels are no logner allgined.... the "content" of all fields combined is still the same as the original soooo... Any suggestions t Thank you!
August 12, 200421 yr Author Hello Queue! Not sure I follow....they alredy are in the same text box. Did u mean that I put merge fields separate from the rest? This approach does "work" ....but will I go to "pritning hell" if not in the same box? sorry if this is an obvious question...trying to avoid the "you should have known" part of it.. Thanx!
August 12, 200421 yr You said that the labels are no longer aligned. I assumed that meant that you were getting a result like ABC- 20 LO 04 -00001A which can be remedied by including all merge fields in the same text block. If that is not the case, I'm not sure what the problem is. If it is that your merge fields are too long in Layout mode, there's an easy fix. Only the first carat of each merge field need be formatted in the desired manner; the rest of the characters can be as small as you like.
August 12, 200421 yr Author I got it! I used 2 boxes, 1 for the 'merged' ItemIDs fields and the rest for others. Removed any spaces/padding of the text box containing the ItemID: <<ItemID1_5>><<ItemID2_5>><<ItemID3_5>><<ItemID4_5>><<ItemID5_5>> it is just that all looks soooo clustered in Layoutmode Thanx Mr. Q!
