Background Color of Filemaker Menu Bar

Featured Replies

How would I change the color of the Filemaker Main Menu Bar to a different color ?

How would I do this in Filemaker v. 6.0 ? And if there is a difference how would i do it in Filemaker v 7.0

Hi, Travis. If you're talking about "File-Edit-View" or the title bar, this would be a Windows OS function (or Mac if you prefer). Anything else, and i'd say you're out of luck. You could use plugins to hide most of the bars and menus, then spoof them with a similar menu of whatever color you like, but otherwise i don't think you can do it.

Only speaking for Windows ... this is controlled in Desktop > Appearance > Advanced. You can specify active windows colors, application background, etc.

As for handling this within FM, yep Jerry, I don't believe it can be done either - and I hate those words and don't use them lightly. I hope I'm proven wrong. smile.gif

Jerry, thanks for the reply. You talked about a plugin that would hide the title bar, the "File-Edit-View", which pluggin does this ? Do you have a hyperlink ? Any other ways to change the color ?

I use New Millenium's SecureFM, but i believe there may be others. MoonShadow's solution above is the only way i know of to change title bar colors, etc. You would probably be able to do it through the registry, also, but i don't know this.

In Windows, the Title Bar is different than the Menu Bar. If you want to change the Menu Bar, in addition to Secure FM, I use Dacons Menu Control. I also believe Jerry is right: that you would need to change the Desktop's appearance, or change the registry.
