Hi guys,

Im using FileMaker Pro 6, is there a way I can calculate whether we

are in British Summer Time or not (result should be Y or N)? British Summer time starts on the last Sunday of March and ends on the last sunday of October.

I'm racking my brains and I can't seen to figure out how to do it

with the functions in FM Pro 6.

Cheers

Requires three fields:

Year (number)

You enter the year as four digits. (i.e. 2004)

You need a two calculations, with the results as dates.

Start_Summer

Date( 3 , Choose( DayofWeek( Date( 3 ,1, Year )) , "" , 29, 28 ,27, 26, 25 , 31, 30) , Year)

End_Summer

Date( 10 , Choose( DayofWeek( Date( 10 ,1, Year )) , "" , 29, 28 ,27, 26, 25 , 31, 30) , Year)

You may have to replace the "," with ";" for your version of FM6.

And, of course, don't forget the easier, unstored calculation

Status(CurrentDate) >= Start_Summer and Status(CurrentDate) <= End_Summer. Set the result as a number. It will be 1 for true and 0 for false. Put this field on your layout and format the number to be a boolean.
