I have been racking my small brain with this all morning

Thanks In advance.

If you have a self-relationship based on client/customer/whatever ID, which is sorted by a date field (or date and time fields) descending, then you can use an auto-enter of relationship::balance.

Hmmmm, Well maybe I am just super confused and should put Filemaker back in the box! (NO, Not Going To Happen.)

Ok, Here is what I have:

(Basically, this is a file that would be alot like a check register)

There are multiple fields but the two I am concerned with are the "Balance" and "New Balnace" Fields. What I would like to see happen is that whenever the user goes to add a new entry value in the "New Balance" from the last record, automatically populates the "Balance" field in the new record.

I did make a self-relationship, but it does not seem to work.

Again Someone:
