Newbies Hales Posted September 24, 2004 Newbies Posted September 24, 2004 When I try to open FMP 6, it hangs on the splace screen with initializing TCP/IP for 2 to 3 hours. During this loading process it uses 95-99% of my computer processing horses. I have uninstalled and reinstalled. I have removed fonts. I am tearing my hair out. I HAVE to use this program as a subcontractor on a project and it is driving me crazy.
Garry Claridge Posted September 24, 2004 Posted September 24, 2004 You may have to setup a dummy Network Connection on WinXP before the TCP/IP stack is initialised. Windoze is not "naturally" a networking OS, hence you may have to trick it into believing that it is on a network. Good Luck. Garry
Newbies Hales Posted September 27, 2004 Author Newbies Posted September 27, 2004 This is a NEW problem. It has been working fine up until the last 2-weeks. I have never had to be tricky in the past. And, if I uninstall and reinstall it will work until I shut-down my computer. If I have to be tricky, how would I go about doing this. BTW, I just opein FMP on my local computer. I then open a remote file. If the program responds and fully loads, I don't have any problems from that point forward.--Rene
