Server 7 & New database's

I am running into the following problem. If we add a database file to the server's database directory, the database does not show up right away. So far if i restart the services or just wait a LONG time, then the database shows up. Does anyone know of a way to change this?

Chris

Start the server administration utility and connect with the your server.

Click on Databases 2X click on files.

Find the file you want to open and right click.

Here you will find the option to open the file among others.

This is a very cool implementation of MMC for FileMaker Server.

The reason the file shows up after restarting the service- FileMaker Server opens all databases automaticaly upon startup of the service.

Is there any way to get FM Server to query the directory every 30 minutes to publish new database's? Or do i have to manually do this everytime?

Hi Skippy: Have you tried refreshing the view? follow the next steps.

To host files when FileMaker Server is already running:

1. Place files in the FileMaker Server Databases folder.

2. Windows: Click Databases in the Console Root of the FileMaker Server Administration window. Then choose Action menu > Refresh.
