serp Posted September 26, 2004 Posted September 26, 2004 I'm exporting from FMP 5.5 differents reports to Excel 2003 (Clients reports, solds items, statistics, etc)
SteveB Posted September 26, 2004 Posted September 26, 2004 Use a .Mer file export format, which will export field names. After the file is created, I think you'll need to rename it to .CSV for Excel to import it. Steve
-Queue- Posted September 26, 2004 Posted September 26, 2004 Excel will import .mer and open .csv. So the advantage of using .mer is that you can retain leading zeroes or force numbers to be imported as text, and other options that are only available when importing. If this is not an issue, then you can do as Steve said and rename it to csv. It would be easier, however, to set the file type as .mer but name it as a .csv during the export.

ovalking Posted October 4, 2004 Posted October 4, 2004 >That works wonderful Thank you forum! It works well in Mac FMP4 too if you export as a merge file. Couldn't find anything in the manual on how to do this. I'd have thought it was a frequently required facility.
