I'm trying to make a Runtime Version. I load a primary file and run the process. But when I click on the new runtime application, I get the following message: "The primary file "" cannot be found and is required for this application." So I can't open the new application and run it. Any thoughts? (I got the message both with v2 and the latest v3.)

Thanks!

you need to add the file you want to make a runtime. Then you need to make sure you name the file (or rename). Then specify a runtime directory were it will build the runtime. And then you need to select specify under solution options and make sure to select the runtime box and make sure you name the runtime file.

Thats about it to get started.

Thanks. I had done all those steps. I notice too that the other file created along with the Runtime one has a USR extension. Is this correct? That it's not UFSR?

I just tried again, and now I get an Apple Error message when I click the Runtime: Error Code 1000.

You need to decide on the file extension you want (don't use the default USR). For instance I use ".tp2", which means "transpower file, version 2". You then need to associate this extension with FileMaker Runtime in your OS.

I have kept my ext. as .usr, are you saying it is not a good idea? Also why do you need to associate the extension with FM? When you run the executable doesn't FM pick it up?
