FMP 7 Printer Settings

Featured Replies

This is similar to another thread I see going on, except in this case I am using FMP 7, while they are using 5.5.

I have a label printer, and a normal printer. I want to have certain scripts use either one.

I have seperate scripts for each print process, and each script results in one print, either to the regular printer, or to the label writer.

The label should default to a custom label size, and portrait layout. I do a page setup script step with no dialog, restore settings, but the settings don't seem to take. When I click the button to view the script step's settings, I see a default set of options. When I change them, and click OK, and reopen them, I see the same default options; the supposedly stored settings aren't being stored. Has anyone else had cases where they were trying to save the paper size and/or layout for a printer and if so did you have any issues with it not remembering the correct setup? How did you solve this?

Thanks for your help.

I cannot duplicate your problem. In your scripts, do you see Print Setup [Restore] ?

purplemaji,

This is a frustrating "known issue." The only real work around is to not put the "no dialog" option on and make your users select.

I just saw that FM put their version 3 updater for download. I sure hope it addresses this problem.
