Build plugins with XCode?

Featured Replies

Are any of the example plugin templates - either Filemaker or 24U or other -

compatible with Apple's Xcode rather than CodeWarrior?

I've asked that question of some plugin developers and while they say it's possible to do and that they might look into it, no one's gotten back to me about converting to an Xcode project file. FMI was even less helpful in that regard.

I decided to bite the bullet and buy codewarrior anyway. (Only $129 for edu) That way I can build for both Win and Mac at the same time using the 24U template. All I want to do is convert some command line tools to plugin functions so there shouldn't be any platform specific code. While abstrakt's shell plugin works great for this task, I'm doing this to learn as well as make the functions more easily available to other FM users at the university.

I spent some time trying to convert the 24U plug-in to XCode, but couldn't get it working.

Some of the issues I was experiencing were due to bugs in XCode 1.2, so I'm hopeful that newer versions might be easier, but I haven't tried it with XCode 1.5 yet.

Good news: An updated version of 24U FM Template with ready to use projects for XCode and VS.NET is going to be released soon. Keep watching the web for an announcement.
