Young Padawan Posted November 5, 2004 Posted November 5, 2004 I have a portal that doesn't seem to show related records when I share the database using FM7 Server but it works fine when I'm just accessing a copy of the same file on my harddrive using FM7 Pro. I have the database set up so that everyone has access to everything and it doesn't require a password. Other portals on the same layout work fine and the only difference in the non-working one is that the table it's pointing to is a self join table as follows: eg. (Table G 2)-----(Table G)-----(Table A) The Layout I have is of Table A. Inside this layout I have a portal pointing to Table G 2 which is a self join of table G. What's strange is that if I add onother record to the portal that's not working using a button/script that inserts a new record in table G the portal then shows all the records in question and works. And it continues working until I close the database. When I relog in I'm stuck with the same problem again, any ideas?
transpower Posted November 6, 2004 Posted November 6, 2004 This may be corrected in the latest update of FM 7 Server. Your problem seems to be the same as that corrected in version 7.03 of regular FM, as discussed in paragraph 1.6.1 of the Release Notes.

dkemme Posted December 13, 2004 Posted December 13, 2004 If any of your relationships rely on a global or a field that is autoentered upon creation of a new record, your description of creating a new record could explain this apparant loss of a relationship.
