November 9, 200421 yr I think I'm stuck in FM 6 thinking. I have a FM7 DB that has 2 tables. L2 Main and L2 Bureau Raw. L2 main contains client personal data, and L2 Bureau Raw contains accounts listed on a clinets Experian Equifax and Transunion credit reports. I want a value list that shows a clients Experian accounts only. Created a relationship called EX General Accounts with a match with L2 Main to L2 Bureau raw. Social Security & " " & EX is what is in both match fields for this relationship. I made a value listed with data from L2 Bureau Raw, and to include only related values starting from EX General Accounts. The value list shows all accounts listed in L2 Bureau raw. What am I missing? Thanks!
November 9, 200421 yr You could add two fields to L2 Main with the contents "Equifax" and "Transunion". Create two new TO's in the Relationships Graph. Connect not only the clientID (Social Security number, here) to L2 Bureau Raw but also the Equifax Field to the creditReportType field in the creditReports table. Ditto for the Transunion field. Now create two portals in the L2 Main field showing the records from the relationships. (I think you mean portals, not value lists.)
November 9, 200421 yr Author Transpower, thanks for the response. Actually, I am attempting to do a Value list. I did as you described, and I got the same results. I attached a PDF of the graph I have. In FM6, this was really easy to do. Create a relationship with the 2 fields, and use the field I want from the relationship. Viola! I have the value list I want. Here, I'm feeling like I just started with FM yesterday. Any other ideas on this? Graph.pdf
November 9, 200421 yr Author Ok, I got the value list to work. I looked a file Ugo uploaded, and copied the idea. What worked in this is I set the value list to use records from L2 Main, and show only related values from EX General Accts. I had been using records from L2 Bureau Raw, and show records from EX General Accts. I'm starting to see the light!!
