How to empty FMP cache?

Featured Replies

Hi

I have a weird problem, where my Filemaker keeps sending a waaay old version of a CDML-document to my browsers, even if I have corrected it several times. My guess is FMP web companion has the documents in some sort of cache and won't let go of the older versions (it has the same name). How can I force FMP to "forget" and go get the newest version of the document?

Have you double-checked that it is not in the Cache of the Browser? Try another Browser.

Is the page showing changes in data?

Turn the WebCompanion off, Quit from FM. Re-launch FM and turn WebCompanion back on. This may have some effect.

Good Luck.

Garry

Hi, my understanding was always that the HTTP server in FMPro didn't do any caching - If there are any CDML tags in the page then it is definitely built on-the-fly against a database query.

Are you using a proxy server?

regards, Jeff

Just to back up the other two posts, AFAIK there is no caching facility built-in to Web Companion, and in fact such a facility works against the logic of database-driven dynamic pages.

If you're using IE (either platform), then I'd suggest it's your browser, as IE is a known offender in the persistent cache area - especially on the Mac, where even changing your settings to always check for new pages often doesn't work. Hold down shift (Windows) or ctrl (Mac) while hitting refresh to force the issue and see what happens.

Cheers,
