Invoice type layout HELP

Featured Replies

This seems like a basic problem, but I've spent hours trying to figure it out without success...

Consider a basic invoice presented as a table with 3 records in it.

Each record has several fields (name, quantity, price) separated from each other by a small vertical line, so as to have it look like a column.

I would like to have the vertical line fill out the rest of the page all the way down to the footer (even thouth there are only a few records)... The more records there are the shorter the line... (in preview mode obviously)

The strange thing is that I converted a friends FMP 5.5 file that did just that to FMP 7, and it does not work anymore...

Am I missing something ? HELP

Thank you

Carlo

As a fix (not a solution), extend the lines down into the footers in layout mode. They will then display correctly in browse mode.

Actually, I would like the solution to work in preview mode (I want to "print" the invoice)...

Unfortunately, I don't think it's possible to make your lines fill in the gap between the last record and the footer. I was not able to get this to work in FM6 either.

Does this do it, the "dummy" Subsummary.

OOH! Nice trick Fenton!

Especially since I was just guessing. When in doubt reach for a Subsummary part :)-)
