FileMaker Server 5.5 and Windows Server 2003

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

Not had much experience with Windows Server 2003, but can Filemaker Server run confortably with w2k3? I've only really installed it on Windows 2000 and Panther and both OS's work great, really worried that my client has bought a version of the Server operating system FM Server isn't compatible with.

Cheers

Jalz

It's not certified but it runs. You would be out of support though if you had a problem and called it in.

If you buy a copy of w2k3, Microsoft will let you downgrade to W2K (for the cost of a W2K CD, about 30$ or so). That's an option.

We have had 3 FM Server 5.5 running on 3 Windows 2003 servers for 6 months and have not had one problem. It should work fine for you.

Hm I've been runing filemaker 5.5v2 pro unlimited on a windows 2003 server and i got huge problems, every now and then filemaker just quits, or it crashes.

I've ran all the updates from the filemaker page but it still goes down on me.

Has anyone seen this before on windows 2003?
