December 13, 200421 yr Hey guys, Me again! Don't understand 1. I have downloaded 7.3 painstakingly over the internet using morse code slow modem 2. I have it expanded in it's own folder on the desktop 3. I run a file called SETUP which welcomes to me to AGREE and DISAGREEable information - (has anyone ever been able to continue if you don't agree? Free-will proof!) 4. Insert your original disk of FileMaker Disk in drive - you have to click BROWSE because it immediately selects source as being "1" select D: then you have to go to FILES until you see the only file it is looking for FILEMAKER.MSI Uh, Uh - WRONG FILE! this is not the file - aye? yes it is! Whazzup? No matter how many times I try, same thing Is it because: 1. I didn't upgrade to possible previous upgrades instead of jumping from 7 to 7.3? Did I also need to do 7.2? Where is that? 2. Have I saved the download in thwe wrong place? Is it looking for the new one from the download? I don't think so, it freaks out even more when I BROWSE and select that one Whazzup!!! This is driving me nuts, surely there is something wrong, please don't let it be that I need to download again!!! It's insaine!! please help I have posted before but in reply to a simular problem which isn't specifically mine so I thought I'd start from scratch. Thanks for your help!! Matt
December 13, 200421 yr I have upgraded many machines to 7.0v3, but only on Macs so I am not directly helpful. Make sure the program is not running. You do not need to upgrade to v2 first. I have recieved a message stating upgrade did not work but in fact it did, and these machines run just fine, v3 seen in startup.
December 13, 200421 yr Author okay - I will try that out. I'll keep it posted. How's NSW? Heard about all the floods and damage this morning, looks bad. Is Syndey affected at all?
December 13, 200421 yr Hi Matt, thanks for asking! No floods around me -- but I'm in suburbia. We've had some heavy rain and wind that's caused a bit of damage but again, most seems to miss my area. It's gotten so that *any* rain is a big deal. You have to live in Australia to believe how dry it is. I'm in Sydney on the furtile coastal strip and it's dry, but that's *nothing* to what the rest of the folks living inland are struggling with. Drive out to Bathurst (just 3 hours west, of which about 2 hours is now urban sprawl right to the mountains) and everything is just so brown. None of those rolling green fields like you see in movies like Babe.
December 13, 200421 yr Author Well, Auckland summer hasn't even slightly started yet - so, very green underfoot and grey overhead. typical - but, when the sun comes out it's ridiculous! Rain is a very big deal where you are, I was in Sydney two years ago April and still no rain - nice sun - at the beach, all good. Still, us poms - from years ago watching all those 70/80's Aussie films like Bad Boy Bubby always believed you guys sweated more and were redder more than any other nation and had the craziest amount of heat. Now you can complain like the kiwis and poms about the rain - lol
