Exporting a blank line

Is it possible to export tab seperated data seperated by a blank row? I want to export invoice data from item records and insert a row of empty data when the invoice number changes.

Its easy enough to display a report with a blank line but I cant see how to do it with an export

Thanks

Not sure I understend the reasoning why you need the blank record. But you could create a script that creates new empty records in the empty file, sort them in such a matter that there is one empty record wherever you want and then export. After the expert you'll need to delete the blank records of course.

Stuff like this is easy to do in XML... once you know XML that is.

I don't know it very well, just enough to know you can do stuff like this easily if you know XML.

Blank lines are needed when importing a batch of several invoices into MYOB Accounting - otherwise every invoice line goes to the same initial invoice.

Previously I've just done post processing with AppleScript but as this is a Windows client I would have to use VBA and I'm too short of time. I considered inserting blank records but reckoned I'd spend more time doing that than post processing...

Mighty important clue you left out of your earlier posts.

The problems with exporting to, and importing from MYOB have been discussed in the past. I just did a search using " MYOB " and got 30 hits. Besure to do your search using the quotes and spaces as shown.
