In this example if have 3 simple number fields and 1 calculation field.

A--number

B--number

c--number

AA-- Calculation

Problem: (B*C)+A=AA

what i would like is if A=0, then i want AA to be 0, otherwise follow the calculation. I would like this requirement to be included in a define situation and not a script, and i am willing to add fields to make this situation work out. I tried taking another field say BB and multipling A and then dividing by A, however when you divide by zero in filemaker it gives an error or the question mark, just like a calculator (E).

any suggestions would be greatly appriecated.

Thanks

Corey:

Use Case[] to weed out the ones where A=0. I think it goes like this: Case [A=0; AA=0; AA=(B*C)+A]

I didn't think of the Case function, It works great!,

Thanks to Stanley, Lee Smith, and Comment for your help on this matter.

My actual calc. involves a few more items but this was the heart of it, and took care of my problem.

Thanks again guys,

Corey
