Dan-A Posted January 18, 2005 Posted January 18, 2005 Before I go out and buy FM developer.... If i make a runtime app & use kiosk mode to get rid of all menus, does that prevent a user that owns a copy of filemaker from working with my app & seeing all the menus etc.?? thanks Dan
transpower Posted January 18, 2005 Posted January 18, 2005 Yes, if you password protect Admin. There is, also, the option of "No Return"--you can remove full access privileges from the bound databases.
Dan-A Posted January 19, 2005 Author Posted January 19, 2005 thanks for the info. By "no return" i imagine that you mean that if i remove the full access i will never be able to do small changes to the database. I would have to have the "original" do my changes there and make another runtime from that one. Correct?? Thanks Dan
CoZiMan Posted January 22, 2005 Posted January 22, 2005 Build in an 'export' script (test it on import as well) then when you provide an update the user can take their data to the new version.
