January 26, 200520 yr Can some one please tell me the difference between FM 7 and Developer... I have read alot about dev... but I am not sure if I need it. I have been using FM7 for awhile now... and I have made a (i think) a nice data base off of it. Made all my own stuff... would Dev help do this better? Joseph
January 26, 200520 yr Joseph: FMD is, for the most part, identical to FMP, but with some very useful database design reporting features, and the ability to create runtimes (freestanding applications that do not require the presence of FMP to run), kiosks, and a number of other nifty tools as well. In a certain sense, FMD is misnamed - it ought to be called FileMaker for Developers - as I think most folks could (and do) get by without it. However, if you are building very complicated systems (as I do) then FMD is worth it, just for the design reporting features. -Stanley
