required fields on web form FMP7 Server Advanced

Hello,

I have been asked to make forms where people input information into a FMP7 database and I modified the Site Assistant widget results to do this. The problem is that required fields are necessary in these forms, but when a blank is not filled out, a 509 error pops up. I tried modifying the xsl in the addrecord page and in the utilities.xsl page to ignore the 509 error and send the user to the edit page, but to no avail. Can anyone tell me how to do this.
