<<current date>> nor displaying correctly

Featured Replies

I have a simple letter layout with a text box arranged with: <<current date>> . However, today, the date displayed is "January 22, 2005" -- my Mac is setup to a server so the date and time are correct.

Its probably simple but need to know how to make it read "today's date" -- which in this case, today, is February 11, 2005.

Merkaba:

How strange. If you do a Status(CurrentDate) call, do you get the same (wrong) date?

by chance is this a Stored calculation?

Yea, the Status(CurrentDate) is January 22, 2005 -- my Mac reads February 11, 2005 in the upper right hand corner ....

Confirmed Date and Time pane in System Preferences.

Hmm. This is a poser. Obviously, FileMaker has somehow got the wrong date in its head. But how?

Ok.... Now what?

What is <<current date>>?

If you chose "Current Date" from the Edit > Paste Special menu, then it will insert a fixed date. This date is static and doesn't change.

If you want a variable date that changes to show the current date, use the Date Symbol // (two slashes).

Worked like a charm -- thanks!

Any place where I can see a lsit of those symbols?

I don't have your version, but I believe it's under Edit > Paste Special. Just look below the Currents, there are the Symbols. There should be 5 of them.
