Salesman0Gil Posted February 14, 2005 Posted February 14, 2005 Hello all, we have a copy of Server Advanced. We have problems connecting the web publishing to the files. Do the files have to have the instant web publishing turned on? Does FM server have to be the app that has the files open?
laker_42 Posted February 15, 2005 Posted February 15, 2005 Yes, the files have to have IWP turned on. Yes, FM Server Advanced needs to have the files open. How else would it serve them up to the web? You also need to give users the right to log into the database via IWP. This is done in the extended privilege properties. HTH, John
Salesman0Gil Posted February 15, 2005 Author Posted February 15, 2005 Do you need a second web server, besides Filemaker Server
Salesman0Gil Posted February 15, 2005 Author Posted February 15, 2005 Second Question... If it is true we need a Secondary Web Server, any recommendations?
laker_42 Posted February 16, 2005 Posted February 16, 2005 You do need to have a web server but it doesn't have to be on a separate box. We have IIS installed on the same box as FM Server. We have about 15-20 users hitting IWP so we don't have that much traffic. If you plan on having a lot of traffic, you may want to have it on a different machine. HTH, John
