OttawaBusinessContacts.com Posted March 6, 2005 Posted March 6, 2005 It should work but doesn't I started with a Pause/Resume/Script("0:00:15") This gives a 15 second pause Then I tried to do for duration of field value (Global Field) Duration Where Duration is an entered value. It won't work. I tried a Global String, I tried a Global Number and I tried a Global Time. I must be doing something wrong. The pause works with a URL where a short time is used for a high speed connection and a longer time for dial up. Surely I am missing something simple. This is holding up s major project.
dkemme Posted March 6, 2005 Posted March 6, 2005 Seems to work fine for me. See enclosed example using a global number
LaRetta Posted March 6, 2005 Posted March 6, 2005 Doug, the demo you provided is vs. 7 but Barry appears to be using vs. 6. He can't even open it. Barry, your process looks fine and should work. Are you networked and how is this global populated? It may be losing it's content if supplied by a Client system. It may not be the Pause/Resume that is messing you up. How are you using this Pause/Resume? Is it for anything on the web? It would help to see your script. LaRetta
OttawaBusinessContacts.com Posted March 7, 2005 Author Posted March 7, 2005 I am sending a series of queries to the www web is a calculation field Queries directed at some sites like a postal code look up have no graphics and load quickly others are at the net in general. If its compiled you cannot change the duration variable to suit conditions. Hence a minor nuisance to me is a major problem when compiled. It took me hours of trial and error but I got it. Thw global must be a string in the format 0:00:10 without quotes. Thanks for the ideas LaRetta & dkemme
