Ugo DI LUCA Posted March 9, 2005 Author Posted March 9, 2005 Hi, Let me "try" to be clear on this one. May be best representation again is documents and folders. First Level (Parent Records - Only Folders - ) -> ID1, ID2, ID3 and ID4 Second Level (Folder Records from 5 to 9, documents from 10 to 16) Folders ->ID1-5, ID1-6, ID1-7, ID1-8, ID1-9 ->ID2-5, ID2-6, ID2-7, ID2-8, ID2-9 ->ID3-5, ID3-6, ID3-7, ID3-8, ID3-9 ->ID4-5, ID4-6, ID4-7, ID4-8, ID4-9 Documents ->ID1-10, ID1-11, ID1-12, ID1-13, ID1-14, ID1-15, ID1-16 ->ID2-10, ID2-11, ID2-12, ID2-13, ID2-14, ID2-15, ID2-16 ->ID3-10, ID3-11, ID3-12, ID3-13, ID3-14, ID3-15, ID3-16 ->ID4-10, ID4-11, ID4-12, ID4-13, ID4-14, ID4-15, ID4-16 Third Level Folders : ->ID1-6-10, ID1-6-11, ID1-6-12, ID1-6-13, ID1-6-14, ID1-6-15, ID1-6-16 ->ID1-7-10, ID1-7-11, ID1-7-12, ID1-7-13, ID1-7-14, ID1-7-15, ID1-7-16 ->ID1-8-10, ID1-8-11, ID1-8-12, ID1-8-13, ID1-8-14, ID1-8-15, ID1-8-16 ->ID1-8-10, ID1-9-11, ID1-9-12, ID1-9-13, ID1-9-14, ID1-9-15, ID1-9-16 .... ->ID4-9-10, ID4-9-11, ID4-9-12, ID4-9-13, ID4-9-14, ID4-9-15, ID4-9-16 So now, when viewing ID1 record, I want in a portal to see : ID1, ID2, ID3 and ID4, thus all first level Folders, call them Brothers Or Sisters ID1-5, ID1-6, ID1-7, ID1-8 and ID1-9, call them Spouses or Husbands ID1-10, ID1-11, ID1-12, ID1-13, ID1-14, ID1-15, ID1-16, thus all child without declared spouses or husbands...! When viewing ID1-5 records, I want in a portal to see ; ID1,ID2,ID3, ID4 ID1-5, ID1-6, ID1-7, ID1-8 and ID1-9 ID1-5-11, ID1-5-12, ID1-5-13; ID1-5-14, ID1-5-15, ID1-5-16 Whe viewing ID2-6-12, I want in a portal to see : ID1,ID2,ID3, ID4 ID2-5, ID2-6, ID2-7, ID2-8 and ID2-9 ID2-6-11, ID2-6-12, ID2-6-13; ID2-6-14, ID2-6-15, ID2-6-16 At the moment, I turned anything I knew about FM7 but could never end with this result unless I concanate the results of the IDs from ValueListItems based on several relationships to the Child, the Parent, the GrandParent, the First Child Children. Is that clear enough ? Any ideas or workarounds ? The final purpose is an interface tool I am integrating, each record being a button and each occurrence from 1 to 16 being the position of the button, 1-4-15 being a script parameter at the end. The whole thing is running but may require a change in the relationship diagram. enclosed a screenshot where : ID1 to ID4 are "Home" to "Catalog" ID1-5 to ID1-9 are "Planning" to "Stats" ID1-5-11 to ID 1-5-16 are "Inputs" to "Tables"

Brian C Posted March 9, 2005 Posted March 9, 2005 I downloaded the screenshot but all I see are toolbars on the top and side with no data showing. Perhaps it is a compatability issue with acrobat 7 for OSX?

Ugo DI LUCA Posted March 10, 2005 Author Posted March 10, 2005 So this wasn't clear I'd think.... The purpose of this family is to populate the icons on the interface. 1 to 16 are the positions of each icon in a repeating field. I'm trying to find an easy way to manage the correct distribution of each icon according to the parameters scripted. This requires that each parameter is stored as an Id with a repeating field grid holding all icons in the order they should appear, with their coloured (for active) and black/white (inactive) options. Never mind. It's far too complicated to explain in a few lines...I'm keeping the scripted approach at the moment.

Brian C Posted March 10, 2005 Posted March 10, 2005 Ahhh, I appologize, I started to attempt to absorb what your post was about and stopped after I checked the screenshot, not realizing that this was what it was about in the first place. I will take a closer look at this and see what I can figure out. I will post a response once I have a better grasp. (I'm much too stubborn to give up on anything)
