Hi, I have a solution that I want to attach a read me file to. I have seen files that have pictures of the screen with toolbars and such for visual reference. How does one do this? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I don't know if a MAC has the same functionality, but on a PC it's easy.

Position what you want to take a "snapshot" of. Then press the Print Screen/SysRq button on your keyboard. This button dumps a screen snapshot into the system clipboard. Then just open up a "new File" with your favorite graphics editing software, and paste (Ctrl-V). Then crop out/edit what you don't want, and save the file. Once the file is saved, you should be able to add that to whatever document you want.

There are programs out there that save screenshots directly to files, but if you already have a graphics editor, then it's kinda pointless. Shoot, even MS paint will work, which happens to come with XP.

if your on a mac you have some options:

CMD + Shift + 3

This will take a screenshot of your entire screen.

CMD + Shift + 4

This will bring up a selection tool so you can make a rectangular screenshot of a certain area.

CMD + Shift + 4 + Space Bar

This will turn your cursor into a tiny camera. Use this camera to take a picture of the Dock, a menu, or a window and it will crop the background automatically for the resulting image.
