April 11, 200520 yr Newbies Greetings Experts I am using FMserver 7 and IWP I have a table that I am trying to display related graphics in using IWP. The primary table has "Tech Request" records in it and I would like to show a Logo for each building that the request is from. So I set up another table called "graphics" then made records that contain a container field for the graphic and a text field that contains the building name. I used the building name to relate the graphic table to the Tech Request table. In FM Developer 7 i am able to see the graphics in my tech request layout. but when i log in via IWP (admin acct) i only see a small blue box with a white "?" question mark in it. If i use IWP to view the layout that was automatically created when i made the "graphics" table i AM able to see the images. but when i go back to my Tech Request layout where the graphics are connected via a relationship... i only see the question marks. Did i mention that this DOES work correctly from with in Filemaker. I have also tried diffrent file formats with the same result (jpg, gif, pdf) Any help would be super cool. I have been struggling with trying to show graphics as the result as a calculation for some time now. I have found oodles of great info on these forums that had helped, but I am still not able to get it working for me. -joe Picture2.pdf
April 20, 200520 yr No, I think the problem is that IWP is a strange bird, and most Filemaker developers have only toyed with it briefly before moving on to something else. That makes it hard to find an IWP expert. Prior to Filemaker version 7, IWP was severely limited in what it could do, so it wasn't used much. Now, it's much improved, but it still doesn't have the mass of experts like other aspects of Filemaker does. The question mark thing makes it look like the browser knows it's supposed to display a graphic, but is not able to download it. Which web browser are you using? In one of the other posts, it was mentioned that IWP is optimized to work with Safari on Macintosh, and Explorer on Windows. Using any other browser could cause problems. It may also make a difference whether you store the actual graphic in your container field, or just a reference. So, you should try it both ways. And if you store it as a reference, where you store the actual graphic file is probably important.
