RET Posted November 9, 2001 Posted November 9, 2001 Can anyone tell me if this possible and how I can achieve this. I have created a database that will keep track of Finical payments for a school. It is made up of several fields that contain information about each student. Lets say I wanted to create a report about every student that paid with a check for 2000. How would I do this when each record contains several fields that may or may not contain information in it and it could be in one field and not the next. Example: Record 1 Jim Smith Field#1 7/26/2000 Check # 201 Field#1.1 paid $200 Field#2 8/30/2000 Cash Field#2.1 Paid $200 Field#3 10/20/2000 Check #202 Field#3.1 Paid $200 Record 2 Jane Toll Field#1 7/26/2000 Check #400 Field#1.1 paid $200 Field#2 8/30/2000 Cash Field#2.1 Paid $200 Field#3 10/20/2000 Cash Field#3.1 Paid $200 How would I create a report that will show how many check were posted as opposed to cash. I'm trying to be as clear I can about what I am trying to achieve but I can elaborate. Thanks, Robert
Kurt Knippel Posted November 9, 2001 Posted November 9, 2001 Well start by rethinking the structure of your database. You have multiple payments per record. This will make findind and reporting extremely difficult.
