Import Amongst Tables

Featured Replies

Hello,

I want to import data from one table to another. I go to the Import Receords Script, choose specify file, point to FM Server the file name, and then...

It crashes (Would you like to send an error report???)

Then with the Server bug (You have to restart FM Server, because it thinks you are still connected, and the license key is a dup) This is a real nightmare..

Anyone else running in to this??

I've done this before with no problems, Why Now?

Just got a different error.

"The File Could Not Be Translated Using The Selected File Type"

Ummm.... I'm using FM7 pro, set to all files.

It sounds to me that you either have a corrupt printer driver, or the file on the server is corrupt and cannot be opened in its present state.

Can you open the server file normally without it crashing? Can you import from another file into your file without crashing?

Yes the file works normally. I will try to do an import, but suspect it will work fine

Yup import works fine

Check that you have the latest updates installed, both for the client app and the Server. I seem to remember there being an import bug in an early version that prevented imports from other tables in the same file, but only when hosted with Server.

All right I got it to work.

I closed it on the server. Open the file directly with Pro. And then it worked.

When I opened it with Server again. It was kind of clunky but it worked....

Any ideas??
