Who needs Filemaker?

Featured Replies

Apple's Developer site states that their new Core Data programming model includes the following features:

1. Interface builder - allows a programmer to place data objects and items such as window sliders on a window layout.

2. Core data- relationships between data objects defined with a graphical user interface (similar to FM relationship graph).

3. Built in SQLite data format.

Can we hope for a day when we can design true applications, not just databases, with complex features such as the ability to manipulate graphical objects, as a front end to a fast SQLite database, but with ease comparable to FileMaker? wink.gif

Take a look at Yojimbo by Barebones Software. That's what it is built on top of.

Picture this: developing in FMP with a front end graphical environment that is client side like Flash yet integrates seamlessly with internal FMP scripts, l/o, tables, etc. with the ease of developing using IWP! No middleware! Common FM Inc. You're so close! Put your techs on making IWP the way to build web enabled applications! In other words, the layouts you design in FMP would behave more like flash apps: drag and drop, animation, etc.!!!!
