I have the following situation arising during a V6-V7 conversion project:

A simple script is used to send data form the current "contact address" record (V7) to a web-hosted database (V6) using a Lasso command constructed by a calculation field.

When viewed on the web page after transfer, uppercase letters in the source data are displayed as lowercase.

This was NOT the case prior to the V6-V7 conversion of the source db. In that situation, uppercase text was displayed on web pages associated with the web-hosted db WITH all the uppercase letters as entered in the source db.

I'm guessing that this is an issue related to character set conversions during the transfer of data from the V7 db to the V6 db, but I can't seem to find any information that really confirms that hunch. My guess would be that the character set used by the V7 db is being converted to the older character set used by the web-hosted V6 dbs, and that the conversion just doesn't handle the transfer of uppercase characters.

I wonder if anyone here can confirm this interpretation for me? Or offer another?

Thanks much.
