Getting the Parameters of the "-find" request

Featured Replies

Hi,

Is there a way to get the values of the "-find" request from within the script that is called after the "-find" request?

Suppose a "-find" is called with request of myTextField=A and myTextField2=B, I some how need to get the value of A and B from within a script that is called.

Is this possible?

Thanks.

Try performing a Modify Last Find script step.

In IWP maybe the "Modify Last Find" script step would work. This, however, is similar to working in the client, and it involves a manual step and therefore an interrupt of the workflow.

However, I assume, that you meant CWP because you mentioned the -find query. For there the answer is no, you can't get the parameters. That was since FM 5 the main reason why I never used -script (besides other problems if offers: performance, unpredictable behaviour if used in a web based asynchronous multi-user/multi-tasking environment etc.). What do you want to do with the script? I'm sure this can be solved with CWP techniques as well.

If you are using CWP, put the find criteria into tokens.

And then? How do you read them out in the script? It's simply not possible, believe me.
