Nicnacs Posted May 26, 2005 Posted May 26, 2005 I feel a bit daft asking this as I'm sure I'm ignoring a perfectly obvious answer! I'm exporting the Count results for a database to a csv file and I'd like to get the field names as well as just the contents of the fields. At the moment I'm getting a file with just 1, 24, 5, 6, 7, 92, 46, etc which isn't much use if you don't know what the numbers are the results for! Anyone got the obvious answer?! Thanks
Vaughan Posted May 26, 2005 Posted May 26, 2005 Export as either an HTML talble, or as a merge file format. Merge files are csv files, with the first row containng the field names.
Lee Smith Posted May 26, 2005 Posted May 26, 2005 Hi Nicnacs, Vaughan gave you the short answer. I would have suggest that you do a Search of the Forum using your keywords, because this topic has come up many times during the time you have been a member. You owe it to yourself to read the Manual, and/or the Online Help about the different file types that FileMaker can import and export. This is the path to the Online Help. [color:"blue"] Contents > Importing and exporting data > Supported import/export file formats I also found it very helpful to test the different file types, as you do get different results. HTH Lee
Nicnacs Posted May 26, 2005 Author Posted May 26, 2005 Thanks! I knew I was being daft...I blame the jet-lag
