June 3, 200520 yr FMDev7/Win2k I'm hoping I'm just being an idiot because I'd love to find a way around this issue, and if it's me being an idiot, that's fine by me at this point. Why is it so danged difficult to add a new custom color in the COLOR dialog box to any swatch other than the first? There are 16 swatches available, but, for the life of me, the only way I can see to add a custom color - to any swatch other than the first - is to click on one of the white swatches and then manually enter the color code on the right. Is that the process for entering a custom color? If that is the process, then why can I select - for example - a square filled with a custom color, then open the COLOR dialog box, have it show that custom color on the right, but not let me easily add it to one of the empty swatches? Clicking on the "Add to Custom Colors" button always adds it to the first swatch, overwriting whatever is already in there. The only way I've found to add a custom color to any swatch other than the first is to first click on the swatch then manually enter the values on the right, which disappear the moment you click on the open swatch. Seems completely counter-intuitive to me. Also, why in the heck aren't these custom colors saved somewhere on a permanent basis? For me, they're lost each time I close the app and re-launch. That just seems crazy to me. How about saving the custom colors within the DB? Can't be that difficult or add too much to the file size. Finally, it seems to me custom colors are not shared between objects and fonts. Is that correct? If so, why in the holy heck not? Sorry if I'm seeming overly frustrated, but it just seems to me these issues could easily be resolved. Again, hopefully I'm just being an idiot, because I'll gladly eat crow in order to save the wasted time and frustration that I'm experiencing right now. Thanks in advance for your help! -Stever
