Newbies ritslinux Posted June 4, 2005 Newbies Posted June 4, 2005 Hi, I have a database with 2 datefields, used for registration of contractors at our firm (startdate-stopdate-name-company (and so on...)) I want everyday to make 2 lists of contractors using the search-option: 1) Those who will ONLY come today. This is easy filling in // and // in both datefields when searching. 2) Those who will be here today BUT also yesterday and/or tomorrow. In "search" I use in startdate "<=//" and stopdate ">=//" This will work BUT will include also contractors ONLY for today. I want to exclude these in the second list HOWTO setup things so that contractors ONLY today will NOT show-up in this second list.
Newbies ritslinux Posted June 6, 2005 Author Newbies Posted June 6, 2005 Well, surprices me that there is no reply sofar.. I simply want to print a search with names in a chosen period (from date xx to date xx) and only if the data in the datefields are the same then it must be excluded. If this is to diffivult in FM (If I remember me right then dBase had NO problem with such an easy query) then I doubt if FM is realy something to help me working with my databases.
Ender Posted June 6, 2005 Posted June 6, 2005 Sounds like an easy query in FileMaker too. If you can clarify your question was a little more, I'm sure we can steer you in the right direction. You talk about two date fields, but it's not clear how these are important in the search. It's also not clear exactly what you want omitted.
Newbies ritslinux Posted June 6, 2005 Author Newbies Posted June 6, 2005 Here a basic part of the file (Zipped), Note it BezoekmeldingenKopie.zip
aaa Posted June 7, 2005 Posted June 7, 2005 I dont know what can do version 3, may be this:? In the script you first find: 1. <=Today 2. >=Today (as you know) then continue such: go to record first Loop If (sartdate=Today and EndDate=Today) Omit Else Go to Record next(exit after last) Endloop
