Pb with layout

Featured Replies

Hi,

Could anyone telle me how comes when i import a form into a layout and then print it, setting the margins to 0 it does not come out as the original A4??

Basically what i am trying to do is put fields over a printed form so that they print in front of blank fields on the actual form..can anyone tell me if maybe that has something to do with printer setup and what size should i set the paper to ?? Hope this is clear enough!!

Have you set the layout's margins to zero (in Layout setup)?

Vaughan probably nailed it. But also, each printer has it's own defined edge (in which it simply will not print outside of).

Another trick you might try (if adjusting your layout margins still won't allow the form edges to print) and you can get this form pre-printed ...

Paste your form on the layout without fields. Arrange > Lock it in place (just to make move/placing your fields easier). Place your fields on the layout using the form as a guide. It will not be perfect ... yet.

Once you have your fields placed where you think they will match, delete your form (unlock it first) but leave your fields. Place the printed form in your printer tray. All you are going to print is the fields themselves on the pre-printed form.

You will have to adjust the fields a bit to get a perfect match. But this way, even if the form has too narrow an edge for your printer to identify it, you can still get a perfect print. smile.gif
