I have a client running my runtime application on his PC and also has a copy on his laptop; both are XP. On the laptop only, he is getting the following error when he opens the application:

"BatchDLL Capitalization Error. Errnum 39"

He can close and bypass the message and everything appears to be OK. I have over 650 users on all platforms and this is the only one with this problem (which means it has to be something with his laptop.)

Has anyone ever encountered this error message or know where it is coming from and what it means?? Especially, what to do to fix/eliminate it??

Thanks.

Never heard or seen this message, but given that it happens with the runtime, why not try replacing all of the FM DLLs in the user's solution folder for starters?

I had him copy the "good" version from his desktop PC and restore it to the laptop, thinking something may have gotten corrupted. But, he is still getting the error message. I am convinced that it is not actually a FM or runtime problem, but something quirky on his laptop; only this error ONLY happens when he opens my application. He does not have FM or any other runtime apps to test against. Must be some conflict somewhere. I am just hoping that maybe someone else has seen this before and knows what it is.

Thanks.

a google search turned up only one hit on BatchDLL and it seems to be part of a product by CompuScan:

http://www.compuscan.co.za/

If he has such a product, uninstall that one, reinstall the runtime and try again. If that works. Try reinstalling the compuscan prodcuct
