I have a table with 3 layouts. In 2 layouts, I have a merge field in the header section to display the value of a particular field. The value is the same for all the records in the table. In layout A the merge field data appears correctly; in layout B, nothing displays in Browse/Print mode and the error code -44719999999 is displayed when I show sample data in layout mode.

The FMP file I created is designed to create a set of forms for particular events, and with each new event I duplicate the file from the previous event to make changes. The weird thing is that the merge fields have worked properly in previous iterations of this document.

Does any one have any insights as to why this issue may be occuring?

Thanks

What you are seeing in the Number Field is Sample Data, not an err code.

I mis-typed, yes that is the "canned" sample data not an error code. However what I expect to see in the merge field is the sample data from the actual record, not canned sample data. This appears properly in layout A but not in layout B.

Both layouts are in the same file?

What version of FileMaker and what platform?

Do the merge fields have the same dimensions? They will not expand beyond their defined dimensions, unless they are contained within a larger text block.

Lee: FMP v7.0v3, Mac OS 10.4.2

Queue: Yes they are both in the same file and the dimentions of the text space is plenty big to display the data.

TO = Table Occurrence

A table may have many TOs, depending on how many times it appears in the relationships graph.

Can you post a clone of your file and signify which layouts and field to investigate?
