Defined fields

I have copied my solution and I am reconfiguring the new solution for our upcoming year; If I've made the old and new relate will the formulas change in both if I change them in one??? [color:red]

If you mean will a relationship between files cause a field's definition in one file to change when you change a related one, then, No. If the related file has a calculation which is based on the changed related field's definition, then, yes, its value will update; however, its formula will not change.

No. A relationship is just for data, it does not mean that changes to the structure (schema: field definition, scripts, layouts,...) will synchronize themselves between two related files.

Can I question the need to duplicate the files for each year? Why not keep multiple years in one set of files?
