Cursor goes to wrong position

Featured Replies

Has anyone ever come across this problem which is afflicting me on FPro 7 using Apple OSX 10.3.9?

- If I want to copy a piece of text, for instance the word'Problem' I highlight the exact word 'Problem' then do 'Apple Copy'.

- For some reason, instead of picking up the word 'Problem' what I actually pick up is 'roblem '. In other words there's a misalignment between what I see my cursor doing on screen and what it is actually doing.

- It's only a problem in Filemaker, not in other applications.

- I'me viewing Filemaker at 100% size.

Any advice gratefully received!

I think this has more to do with OS 10.3.9 than FileMaker, because I have had this happen in other programs such as Mail and Safari.

Check that your text smoothing in the Appearance System Preference panel is set to be smaller than the smallest font you're using (I have it set to 8.)

Hi Mike,

Thanks for the tip. I hope that does it. I had it set to 8, but put it to 6 to see if that would help.

It's one of those annoying little things that you put up with, but would just as soon not have to.

Lee & Mike - thanks very much for the tip. I've tried the text smoothing change, and I think it's worked. Aah! Such a relief. Thanks again.
