Why do I keep getting Field Missing

I am building my first fp7 database, a photocatalog with two tables, Image info and Artist Info. The two tables are related by the field Artist. I am trying to build a layout that shows the some fields in the Artist info with a portal to the Image info table that shows all the Images that were created by that particular artist. However, I keep getting the error message Field Missing, for the fields from the related image info table. I get this error whether I try to display a text, number, or container field in the portal. Please help.

Hi simone_me,

Things to check:

1) You must have valid table occurrence in your graph in which your layout (and portal) references.

2) Make sure they are connected properly. If the line points to the TO heading instead of a field, it indicates it's broken.

3) Make sure your layout (through Layouts > Layout Setup) points to this valid table occurrence.

4) Make sure your portal references a valid table representation in the graph.

5) Double-click the fields and re-point them to this valid table occurrence if necessary.

It sounds like you've deleted your table occurrence to that portal from the graph - or have deleted it in the graph and then re-added it. By then, it's too late. You need to re-point your layout, portal and fields to the newly created TO.
