Google robots and CDML question

Featured Replies

Hello,

[ INTRODUCTION ]

We use Filemaker 6 Unlimeted to show our products online Using CDML tags.

Now I want Google to index my FMP database, but there are "&" and "=" punctuation marks used in the hyperlink, [see below], but the googlebot does not index pages using the punctuation marks mentioned above.

[ EXAMPLE HYPERLINK ]

[http://]databases.sj-solutions.nl/STORE/FMPro?-DB=producten SJS.fp5&-lay=WEB&-format=Results.htm&

Prijzenlijst_sjsolutions::productnaam=xwall&-max=1&-Find

or visit our website: SJ-Solutions B.V. to find out!

[ QUESTION ]

Is there anybody who can help me to change my CMDL hyperlinks to hyperlinks without the & and = punctuation marks or do I need to use PHP?

Greetings,

Jukkie

Hi, j! I think you can do things like changing your configuration file if you serve w/Apache, but if you are using FM6 Unlimited alone, I don't think you'll be able to do it. Maybe someone who knows more about serving FM w/Apache can give you specifics, but here's a link to an old FMFORUMS post where we talked a little about this kind of thing.

The article Leb i Sol refers to was very interesting reading, but the comments to the article at evolt.org were very helpful, too. If it's still online, it may give you some good background material. Or you can look for newer articles on Google (LOL) by searching for "clean url".

EDIT: Oooppss... forgot the link...
