August 9, 200520 yr I do all of my FM development and most deployment on Mac OS X. I just created a FM solution on Windows XP SP2 and delivered it to a client also running WinXP SP 2. His system reports a warning when the FM run-time exe launches: Open File - Security Warning The publisher could not be verified. Are you sure you want to run this software? Name: Mumble.exe Publisher: Unknown Publisher Type: Application I'm puzzled why I don't see this warning message on my XP system. -- Ward
August 11, 200520 yr The only thing I can guess is that your machine knows that the "exe" file was created on your machine so does not issue the warning, whereas the warning will popup on any other XPSP2 machine. You may just have to include a readme file that explains the warning and what to do. I would guess that most XP users would know that if they are initiating the action, it is OK to click the yes or ok.
August 11, 200520 yr There should be a checkbox on the dialog that pops up on the user's machine, that when checked won't bother the user again. Steve
