PatriciaW Posted August 15, 2005 Posted August 15, 2005 I have defined some fields as only enter in Find mode because I want to be able to prevent the user from entering data into the fields. But having done this, scrolling does not appear to work. Can I get scrolling to work and also prevent data entry?
-Queue- Posted August 15, 2005 Posted August 15, 2005 Scrolling is a function of being able to enter the field. You could use a calculation field that is equal to the data field and use that on your layout instead. Then you can allow access to it in Browse Mode and not worry about it being modified.
PatriciaW Posted August 15, 2005 Author Posted August 15, 2005 Wonderful ... that is quite simple. Thanks very much.
comment Posted August 15, 2005 Posted August 15, 2005 I have just now answered this in your other thread. This is at least very close to double-posting, if not actually one. Please don't do that.
PatriciaW Posted August 16, 2005 Author Posted August 16, 2005 If you are referring to the post about design of the application using multiple windows/layouts, I do/did not think of that as double posting. I realized that the problem of scrolling in Find only fields was related to my decision to have separate layouts for Finding and Browsing/updating. So rather than focussing specifically on this thread's problem, I thought I would explain my overall design and see if there was a better way of doing that. If that is considered double posting, I apologize.
