jw21collier Posted September 6, 2005 Posted September 6, 2005 I was wondering if anyone had any good resources on User Interface Design. I'm looking for good books, websites, or other easily accessible resources. My personal belief is that good user interface design accounts for a large part of a databases efficiency and effectiveness and want to expand my knowledge in that area.
Osman Posted September 6, 2005 Posted September 6, 2005 FileMaker Starter solutions are suitable I think. The GUI are simple and looks good.
Howard LeCanard Posted September 6, 2005 Posted September 6, 2005 Despite the cheesy title, here's a good book: GUI Bloopers
stanley Posted September 6, 2005 Posted September 6, 2005 There are tons of resources out there, including: Apple's Human Interface Guidelines: http://developer.apple.com/documentation/UserExperience/Conceptual/OSXHIGuidelines/index.html The GUIdebook: http://www.guidebookgallery.org/ Joel On Software's UI Guide: http://www.joelonsoftware.com/uibook/chapters/fog0000000057.html OK/Cancel: http://www.ok-cancel.com/archives SmallCo's Good Waiters / Bad Waiters essay: http://www.smallco.net/Good_Waiters_Bad_Waiters.html Last, but not least, John Gruber has plenty to say on the topic, although this week he's going on about Google... : http://daringfireball.net/ Hope that helps. -Stanley
