Raybaudi Posted September 8, 2005 Posted September 8, 2005 (edited) Hi all friends more space between TABS... (and a way to see only the TABS) Labels.zip Edited September 8, 2005 by Guest
Lee Smith Posted September 8, 2005 Posted September 8, 2005 Is this a windows thing. I'm not seeing anything obvious on my Mac screen. Lee
Raybaudi Posted September 8, 2005 Author Posted September 8, 2005 Hi Lee I think that you have to see something on the MAC too... (but you have to open with FMP8) ...or it's possible that something don't work right on a MAC, due to the way the TABS are formatted !
comment Posted September 8, 2005 Posted September 8, 2005 No, it's a version 8 thing. I have mentioned in another thread that tab size is dictated by the size of the tab name in the selected font - therefore you cannot rely on tab dimensions being the same on other systems. Here's what I see:
Lee Smith Posted September 8, 2005 Posted September 8, 2005 It open v7, instead of 8 - Duh. Is this what they are suppose to look like, or is something distorted? Lee Picture_1.pdf
Raybaudi Posted September 8, 2005 Author Posted September 8, 2005 Yes, it is very distorted ! So now I know that this isn't cross platform !! BTW: you can edit it for Mac visibility.
VICH Posted September 8, 2005 Posted September 8, 2005 i think he just tried to make it seem like the tabs were spaced by having the find tab have black space in the begining then something over that black space to make it look like the tabs were spaced apart...or atleast thats what i get out of it
Raybaudi Posted September 8, 2005 Author Posted September 8, 2005 (edited) Actually the are 3 TABS, but the middle is empty. There is a white block that hides that middle and another white block that hides the panel ! If you click the Home Tab: If you click the empy Tab (the white space between Tabs) Edited September 8, 2005 by Guest
SlimJim Posted September 10, 2005 Posted September 10, 2005 How much space do you need between the tabs? This is another piece of fakery (it is a partial screen shot from an FMP8 file - I don't mean the whole thing is faked) obtained by applying a thick border round the tab control of the same color as the background and then filling in the gaps (just under the tabs) by a long thin rectangle of the appropriate color on each tab sheet.
Raybaudi Posted September 10, 2005 Author Posted September 10, 2005 This is another technique... The only drow back is that visibles TABS are always squared and sometimes I like rounded ! I don't like the tiny line around the invisible part of TABS. With my exemple you can mask the first TAB too !
