September 12, 200520 yr Even though visualising relationships is a [color:blue]good thing, the way it's implemented is (very) poor (in my opinion). Not at all user-friendly for bigger databases. It's messy, the notes added to 8 are not really helpfull, they just take up more space. What I suggest: 1) A text view of the relationships in a list. Similar to the 'add relationship' button but then to look for a relationship. With the possibility to edit or delete a specific relationship while browsing this list. Oh, that would be sooooo helpfull instead of trying to find a relationship among all tables. 2) The possibility to create several relationship 'layouts' that you can name (so like the layouts we make). Then you can also print them seperately. I'm really frustrated about the way relationships are being shown right now. Thank you in advance -)
September 12, 200520 yr IMO, I think that it would be better to take this issue up with FileMaker instead of a user forum.
September 13, 200520 yr Author Dear Patricia, What does IMO mean? Sorry I'm not a native English speaker (as you might have noticed).
September 13, 200520 yr Well, this IS the Wants & Wishes Forum, Patricia. Michele, IMO means "In My Opinion" which Patricia certainly gave you. L
May 12, 200619 yr I wouldnt agree 100% with this. It just depends how much time you spend laying it all out..
May 12, 200619 yr I don't know why you are responding to a topic that was last posted to in the middle of September 2005. However, your Relationship Graph reminds me of the Article Graph Organization - Making sense of your solution (FREE ARTICLE) by Matt Petrowsky Available here . I think that this link was posted here in the past, but I found it very helpful too, and worth repeating it. Lee
March 27, 200718 yr Hehe, sorry to be digging this topic up again... but, i honestly think FM's relationships window is extremely powerful.
