Hi,

Further to my earlier thread : http://www.fmforums.com/forum/showtopic.php?tid/170220/ which has been locked ;)

I am having the same issue with another database which I have just converted. All other databases I create from scratch are fine.

I think I've figured out what it is... can anyone else replicate?

Convert a database from v.6

Turn on sharing - all users

close the database and host it

I am finding that "network access - all users" is defaulting back to "no users" no matter how many times I set it.

If you open the database, set it to "all users" then save it as a copy, host it, it will appear on the list. Open the file, close it.. and it's defaulted back to "no users" and again won't appear on the host list.

arrrrggghhhh

You need to have at least one account in the file that has a privilege set with the "fmApp" permission set. Iow: the right to access the file over the network. Without this, the file will not show up as available when hosted.

(Lower right corner of the "edit privilege set" window)

Wim... If you re-read my post I referred to my earlier thread http://www.fmforums.com/forum/showtopic.php?tid/170220/ you will see we have already gone down that path to no avail.

Which is why I am now asking if someone is able to replicate it.

Cheers

I read that thread. It seems to be closed because you mentioned you had it working.

AFAIK nobody on the various lists that I'm on reported a similar problem. Which could indicate a configuration problem.

Are there any clues in the FMS logs?
