I finally managed to finish my db with the exception of one field. I have 4 related dbs and all seems to work fine except this field. How's this possible ?

Too little information to really know what is happening.

You need to either attach your file or files, and explain in more detail what is not working. OR, what you have now, and what you want to happen.

In the first db I have a numeric field named "original amount", in the second db I have a numeric field named "amount delivered" and in the 3rd db I have a calculated field named "balance".

Problem is that all other fields show the correct calculations except the "balance". What am I doing wrong ?

To reiterate what Lee said, we still have too little information to have any clue what may be occurring. We do not know how your files are related or how the three fields you mention are defined. It would be quite helpful if you Stuffed/Zipped and posted a sample of your files for inspection.

I am currently out of town for 10 days, I dont have my files with me and I cannot post them. I will do so when I return home.
